does age matter i'm 32 and currently shifting from embedded automotive to fullstack ?

32 is not old for this shift, and age by itself is usually not the issue.
What matters more is how the company reads your profile. If your age makes them assume senior salary expectations while your fullstack experience is still junior or mid, that can create friction. But that is not really about age, it is about perceived cost vs immediately usable skills.
Also don’t frame it as starting from zero. Embedded automotive gives you engineering maturity that many early fullstack developers don’t have: debugging discipline, dealing with constraints, understanding systems, probably better rigor in testing and reliability. The gap is mostly in the web stack, product style development, and shipping habits around frontend/backend/cloud, not in your ability to be an engineer.
So the practical move is: build a few credible fullstack projects, make your transition story very clear, and target companies that value solid engineering over buzzwords. If you can show working code, decent fundamentals, and realistic salary expectations for the role you want, 32 will usually not be the blocker.
